Student Leaders 2017/18 of Graduate LLB programme

Izzy MacSwan

Hi everyone, my name is Izzy and I have just completed the Accelerated LLB and will be starting the Diploma in Professional Legal Practice in September. I’m originally from London but daringly moved up here to study the LLB and I’ve never looked back. Edinburgh is an amazing city and I’m sure you will fall in love with it just like I did! Outside of the law school, I enjoy travelling and skiing- I actually spent a year living in Hokkaido, Japan after university. I am also quite partial to kicking back with some Netflix. Please don’t hesitate to get in touch if you have any queries, and I look forward to meeting you in September!

Lara Pedreschi

Hi there, my name is Lara and I am in my second year of the Accelerated LLB and loving it. I was a born and bread in Edinburgh. Having previously undertaken a degree History the switch to Law, although a little impulsive has been the best decision I have made. It can be very daunting starting a completely new degree, especially with the added pressure of apply for summer placements but don’t worry at all, I can assure you all you’ll be absolutely fine! I have found studying a degree the second time round to be completely refreshing and I have made fantastic friends. I would encourage you all to get involved with other activities and societies as this is a great way to make new friends and make the most of University life. Personally, I am a keen member of the Law Society’s Women’s Football Team, whilst we are only newly formed it’s a lot of fun and having a kick about on a Sunday afternoon is the perfect break during exam season. Additionally, I am an active member of the Mooting Society: this is a great way to improve your public speaking and it looks great on applications. I am sure you all very excited about starting and I am looking forward to meeting you all very soon!
